This CD provides glimpses into the journey of the soul, into the true lover's response to the call of the Beloved. Eight of the ten songs are selections from the spiritual Writings of Baha'u'llah and Abd'ul-Baha. These divinely beautiful lyrics are set to the music of the Celtic Harp and Caroline's voice, at its best interpreting mystic poetry and sacred verses. The effect is heightened by the addition of the sensitive and moving piano arrangements of Anna Hostman, the emotional violin of Rhiannon Schmitt and Kate Gibson Oswald's bird-like descant recorder. The Maid of Eternity
Description
This recording is a musical expression of Baha'u'llah's description, in His own words, of that most ecstatic scene in which the Maid of Heaven calls Him to the station of Manifestation of God. In this Persian mystical ode, known as the 'Halih, Halih, Ya Bisharat', Baha'u'llah describes her in astonishing detail. Using metaphor and symbol in the language of the spirit, He portrays her dramatic celestial presence with intense awe.
