Harp Workshops
Every Spring, HIGH SPIRITS MUSIC plays host to a Celtic Harp Workshop. We started out in Chemainus on Vancouver Island in 1998, with KIM ROBERTSON, SHARLENE WALLACE, LAURA ZAERR and CAROLINE MACKAY teaching in the famous Chemainus Theatre in mid-February, the only weekend of the year when there was not a play under production! In 2002, we moved the Workshop to NARAMATA on Lake Okanagan, and took advantage of the beautiful scenery and spring blossoms at the Retreat Centre. Since then, we have invited Kim and Sharlene back several times, as well as HARPER TASCHE and KERI LYNN ZWICKER and ALYS HOWE
Mark your calendars for March 30 to April 1, 2012....and be sure to send your registration NOW to secure a spot at this very popular celtic harp workshop. This year we have Canadian-Celtic Harpist , Alys Howe leading the workshop. Alys will bring a fabulous collection of traditional tunes from Scotland, Ireland and of course her specialty, Cape Breton. Ensemble playing will be part of our studies so bring your whole group !

The Crimson Rich Trio will perform after Alys in the Glass Chapel on Friday night. Caroline Mackay on HARP and VOCALS, Rod Miller on ACCORDION, and Max DeBessonon on CELLO have found a sweet chemistry between their instruments.
